Thanks to the high alpine altitude of many slopes at over 3,000 meters and Ötztal’s excellent geographical location, a lack of snow is a foreign word here. Whether you are an early or late starter, here you will find powder perfection from the first snowflakes in autumn until well into spring - especially on the glacier slopes of Rettenbach and Tiefenbach.

If you are not on the slopes, winter in Sölden has plenty of other alternatives. For example, a round of cross-country skiing: three free Nordic skiing tracks in Sölden and 143 kilometers spread across the entire Ötztal offer a truly incredible number of opportunities to explore unspoilt nature - in the sportiest way possible. The toboggan run leading down from the middle station of Gaislachkogel Gondola is 7.3 kilometers long - it is also floodlit at night. You can get really close to the mountain on scenic ski tours & great winter hikes. But always check the live cams and weather reports in advance.
